19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid season, managing just one win at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in particular - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-term trainer Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, he has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set victory over opponent Moutet.

This marks his initial title since the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface after March of that year.

Victory also means Medvedev has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is really nice," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had led commentators to wonder if his ability to perform at the highest level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an better serving game.

He fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

The pair exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a third set.

He rescued four early opportunities in a close final set before the Russian broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Fittingly, he clinched the title with a rally at the net, with Moutet failing to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
